Through an activity of photographing the Bougainvillea shrubs to garden-like landscapes, A Shrub is A Garden has evolved into something more encompassing. These subjects were initially photographed intuitively with no purpose in mind. However, as more and more photographs developed over time, I was reminded of what Singapore was coined for - "The Garden City".

 

It has led to a rediscovery and deepened understanding of this city and how a shrub seemingly contains the idea of a manicured landscape through the nation, especially concentrated in parks that are wedged between urbanscapes.
